Journey

Pre-expedition: Visit Havre-Saint-Pierre. Walk to discover this picturesque hamlet where you can stroll along the St. Lawrence. Founded in 1857 by fishermen from the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Havre-Saint-Pierre now offers a wide range of tourist activities, such as scuba diving, fishing, whale watching cruises and sea kayaking trips around the islands of the Mingan Archipelago, these strange 450-million-year-old geological formations.

Day 1: Seaplane trip to the Mutehekau shipu (Magpie) river. After breakfast, our guides will take you to the local airport, that is to say on the shores of a lake, to load the equipment and passengers. The fifty minute flight will go by in a flash as the beauty of the landscapes overflown is striking. Once the soft landing is completed at the mouth of the Mutehekau shipu (Magpie) River, our guides will prepare the equipment and give you safety instructions for the descent. We will start the descent with some rapids classified III and III + until we reach the first encampment. As you launch your lines in the water, our guides will be busy installing the site and preparing dinner.

Day 2, 3 and 4: Rapids, rapids, rapids and why not, more rapids! Hang on, it's going to rock! Your paddler's skills will be seriously tested over the next three days. The descent includes Class IV rapids and even three class IV + passes. To refuel the team's energy, our guides will exchange the paddle for the apron and cook delicious, healthy and envigorating food. The evenings in the open air will stretch to infinity to the rhythm of the anecdotes exchanged around a campfire arranged on a sandy beach. Simple times and pure happiness!

Day 5: The return. A last section of class IV gives place to a planiole followed by a canyon half a kilometer long where the eddies of the river pour into a spectacular fall of class VI. An ultimate look at this exceptional landscape before one last portage that will lead you directly to your car. And then back to Havre-Saint-Pierre where you can relax in your hotel room before enjoying a great sea food meal at Julie's restaurant'
